The idea for our LSD doors is imported from the USA by an imaginative young engineer, who wanted to offer this product as an adaptable universal product, a so called “door conversion kit.” Already during the first talks about a possible cooperation in sales, it was found that the structures of KW automotive GmbH, may be ideally suited to develop this idea into a production-ready product. The plan was to get a product which is produced to the requirements of the customers to get a safe product which is suitable for everyday use. The patent right from that time are not any more the product from today, except the basic idea. The “Universal hinges” are today vehicle specific solutions, which could be easy assembled instead the series door hinges. LSD Doors is today a 100% Brand of KW automotive GmbH, placed in Fichtenberg.

With the new LSD door hinges the door is opened outwards as usual. Then it can be opened easily upwards with the support of the gas spring. Because of an exactly adjustable mechanism this action is secured. Closing the door in the opposite way is also secured and uncomplicated due to the patent pending "Magic Stick™" technology. The "Magic Stick™" secures itself into the socket and stops the door from dropping any further from the closing position.
