Wilwood 140-17658-R Rear 13" SL4R Big Brake Kit with Red Calipers and Slotted Rotors for 1979-1987 GM G-Body 7.5" & 7.65" Rear with 2.62” Axle Offset

Wilwood has expanded the lineup of rear disc/drum brake options for GM G-body vehicles equipped with 7-1/2” (7.5”) or 7-5/8” (7.625”) rear differentials. Popular G-body models include the Chevy Monte Carlo, Malibu, and El Camino. These SL4R brake kits were designed around Wilwood’s motorsports-proven rigid Superlite four-piston calipers with large rotor options. A two-piece aluminum hat-to-rotor combination houses an internal drum parking brake assembly to retain the OE feature. Rotors are Wilwood’s proprietary Spec37 iron alloy with curved vanes, 48 in the 12.88” kit and 72 in the 14.00” kit, and both sizes are E-coated with your choice of GTB slotted or SRP drilled and slotted faces. Forged Superlite FNSL4R radial-mount calipers are Type III hard anodized for durability with stainless steel pistons. Colors are gloss red or black powder coat, or 26 optional colors (additional charges apply). The brake pad compound is Wilwood’s BP-10 street performance, or choose from many other available frictions for your application.

Brake Kit does not include brake lines. Wilwood Flexline brake lines are necessary to complete the installation of the kit and must be ordered separately. See below for brake line kit options: 

• Wilwood 14" Flexline Brake Line Kit #WIL-220-7056. (Recommended for most applications.) 
• Wilwood 16" Flexline Brake Line Kit #WIL-220-7699.
• Wilwood 18" Flexline Brake Line Kit #WIL-220-8307.

This kit also requires an extended rear parking brake cable for proper function. Use Kit # WIL-330-9371 

*This Brake Kit may require 17-inch or larger wheels. Please refer to the wheel clearance diagram image to verify fitment for your specific wheel. 

Notes

This system includes Red Calipers. See separate listing for the black caliper system. Installation of Wilwood Disc Brake Kits may affect the wheel offset and will require a larger diameter wheel for caliper clearance.
